ZHONG CAN YI JIU (中餐意酒) BIRTHDATE: THE UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT IN WHICH THE IDEA WAS BORN

11/06/2020 15:14

“The idea of launching a Chinese Cuisines meet Italian Wine program was born exactly four years ago, on June 9, 2016 at Dadong restaurant in Beijing”, remembers Rosario Scarpato, the Founder and Managing Director of Zhong Can Yi Jiu. It was during the 8th Edition of the Italian Cuisine & Wines World Summit (China Roadshow) in an event celebrating the friendship between two of the most popular gastronomic cultures in the world: the Chinese and the Italian. Chef Dadong, owner of some of the best restaurants in the Chinese capital (and not only there), presented his Summer Menu to selected guests, including Chef Umberto Bombana (8 1/2 Restaurant Hong Kong***), in Beijing for the Summit. It was an astonishing experience of 26 courses (tasting), in which food - even the most daring, was always matched with the history and the literature of China, and obviously with Italian wines. Chef Dadong had been the night before at a "historic" Summit dinner at Opera Bombana, signed by Heinz Beck (La Pergola Rome ***) and Umberto Bombana.
