Description

Tasca d’Almerita is one of the leading wineries in Sicily. It represents a great expression of inland Sicily, where the climate is hot and dry. This wine represents the potential of Sicily, combining the indigenous grape Nero d’Avola with the Cabernet Sauvignon. 

Colour: Deep ruby colour
Aroma: Black fruit character (black cherries, blueberries) and balsamic notes of eucalyptus. The wine has some developing tertiary aromas of leather and coffee beans.
Taste: Full-bodied wine with high fine-grained tannins.

Alcohol: 14%

Grape: 55% Nero d’Avola, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Ageing: 14 months oak barrel ageing .

The richness of this dish requires a powerful wine able to sustain the strong aromas of the beef. 
On the other hand, the dish needs a wine with smooth tannins like the “Cygnus”, in order to avoid to enhance the bitterness of the garlic. The long lasting finish of the wine combines with the aromas of the food, giving a great pleasure to the palate.
